David Olson, Ph.D. at the University of Minnesota evolved the questionnaires from a research project some 20 years ago. Over 1.5 million couples have taken these inventories. Repeated studies have demonstrated their validity.

PREPARE Inventories for Premarital Couples

The PREPARE ("Pre-Marital Personal Relationship Evaluation") inventory predicts future couple satisfaction, areas of conflict, and even divorce with 80 to 90% accuracy. Many couples use their test results to seek pre-marital counseling in their areas of weakness; others decide not to marry.

ENRICH inventories for Married Couples

The ENRICH ("Evaluating & Nurturing Relationship Issues, Communication, Happiness") inventories evaluate marriages based on individual responses as well as the couple agrees on marriage issues. Specifically-designed training and the accompanying couple exercises can improve any troubled areas.

PREPARE/ENRICH Certification

We highly recommend that all counselors attend our one-day workshop on the PREPARE/ENRICH Program. We find that counselors who attend the full day have a better understanding of the program and have fewer questions about how to use the materials.

The workshop will train you on how to properly use the PREPARE/ENRICH Program with couples. You will learn how to administer and interpret the couple inventories and give feedback to couples using the six couple exercises. You also receive a complimentary online scoring credit to use with one couple on our new Online Scoring System.
